Mactaggarts Place Apartments

Luxury Self-Catering Apartments in Teneriffe, Brisbane

Mactaggarts Place is set within one of Teneriffe’s most distinctive heritage buildings. Originally constructed in 1926 for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, the former woolstore formed part of the group of large warehouses built along the Brisbane River during Teneriffe’s years as a major centre for Queensland’s wool trade. The building remained in commercial use for decades before being converted into apartments in 1995, preserving many of the features that give it such enduring character, including its solid red-brick exterior, generous proportions, soaring ceilings and industrial architecture. It was entered on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992.

Today, Mactaggarts Place offers guests the opportunity to stay within an authentic piece of Brisbane history while enjoying the comforts, convenience and atmosphere of contemporary riverfront accommodation.

The accommodation business is owned and operated by John and Kelly Atkins, experienced onsite operators who take a hands-on and personal approach to looking after both guests and the apartments entrusted to their care. As active managers of the building, John and Kelly understand Mactaggarts Place in a way that only onsite operators can. They are readily available to assist guests, respond to issues and share local knowledge about Teneriffe, New Farm and the wider Brisbane area.

Their focus is simple: to offer professionally managed, well-presented accommodation with friendly, responsive service. Whether you are visiting Brisbane for work, a family holiday, a longer stay or a special occasion, John and Kelly aim to make your time at Mactaggarts Place comfortable, straightforward and memorable.
